About the Director and Founder
Hazel Hendy founded bold art gallery in 2003 which has become one of the most successful galleries in Galway City. The gallery lives up to its bold name and proudly hosts over 100 Irish artists including International artists living in Ireland. Hazel Hendy originaly from Co.Kildare lived in New York for 10 years where she worked as an estimator in the Interior Design Industry. Hazel has always been involved in the arts.

When she moved back to Kilkenny she was very involved in the arts festival there where she became involved in performance art. Eventually her move to Galway led her to organise many charity events which she managed. Hazel organised 'Hair to There' for the Special Olympics in Galway and recently organised the Children's Chernoybl Charity Ball with Adi Roche which was a great success. Hazel is well known in Galway for her social contribution to Galway society, she reguarly holds events within the bold art gallery such as children's workshops, launches, lectures and wine tasting events. Hazel Hendy is a member of the Galway Women's Network and won best business women of the year 2006 in Media/Arts category. Along with other awards including Galway's BPW Award.
